Junior Minor
Junior Minor is a second level instructional division of baseball. This division is for players 6 years old who have played at least one year of tee ball and players 7-8 years old. The players pitch for the first inning and then the coach pitches for the 2nd inning. They continue to alternate innings for the remainder of the game. The Junior Minor division uses a regulation Little League baseball.
Season:
The Junior Minor season will begin around the second or third week of April. Practices will begin approximately two to three weeks before their first game, weather permitting. The players then play an average of two games per week (working around Memorial Day) for a total of 10-12 games. Southeast Polk Little League does do inter-league play to support smaller leagues in the area and provide players the opportunity to experience both home and away venues. At the conclusion of the regular season, all team will participate in the Travis Hough Memorial Tournament to crown a division champion.
