For a player to participate, they must first be eligible.

The first part of being eligible is your player MUST be in town from the beginning of pool play through the end of either State Tournaments or 2024 World Series dates (depending on their ages). If you have any out of town dates they MUST be tentative. Your player can NOT be on a team if they are out of town and will miss any possible games during All-stars. If your player is selected for a team and then they are out of town during any of the All-star games they will be ineligible to be selected for a team in the future.

Secondly, your player must either live within the Southeast Polk Little League Boundaries or go to school at a Southeast Polk Elementary School. To find out if your address is within our boundaries you can go to the Little League League Finder and enter your address.

If you do not meet any of the criteria above there are only a couple of exceptions:

  • If you previously lived within the Southeast Polk Little League Boundaries or attended a Southeast Polk Elementary School and played in our league while you did so.
    • After you moved you must have continuously played in our league each year
    • If you take a year off and don’t play, you lose your eligibility
  • If the players other parent lives within the boundaries

Once you determine if your player is eligible they must then be nominated for an All-star team. While we all think our players are the greatest, keep in mind that we are looking to put together a team of the 13 best players, giving us a chance to win at the All-star level. This means that the coaches will choose the 13 best players from all four leagues. This also means, there may not be an even number of players from each team and/or each league.  While we appreciate the effort and teamwork of all of our players, we have to focus purely on skill when putting together these teams.

If your player is nominated and they are in the Senior or Junior division the All-star coaches will vote on and select the players.

If your player is nominated in the 9’s, 10’s, 11’s, 12’s or Intermediate (50/70)division, there will be an evaluation date on either May 15th, 16th, 22nd or 23rd for 2023. Please remember that if your player is nominated and invited to evaluations, it is a nomination, not a guarantee.  Only 13 players can make the team and while we appreciate the effort and the teamwork of all of our players, not everyone who is evaluated will make the team.  Please know, it is an honor and a huge accomplishment for your player just to be nominated. At that evaluation the All-star coaches will evaluate all the players and then after evaluations they will vote on and select the 13 players to make up the team.
