AA (Minor)

AA (Minor) is the first competitive division of baseball.  This division is for players age 8-10 years old.  An 8 year old will only be permitted to play up to AA (Minor) if their skills are extensive enough that they could be a safety hazard in Junior Minors and/or if their evaluation scores are high enough to qualify them for the AA (Minor) division.  Any 8 year old wishing to play up to AA (Minor) must have completed at least one year of Junior Minors.

This is the first division where the players pitch for the entire game.  The AA (Minor) division follows regulation Little League baseball rules.

Season:

The AA (Minor) season will begin around the second week of April. Practices will begin approximately two to three weeks before their first game, weather permitting.  The players then play an average of two games per week (working around Memorial Day) for a total of 12-14 games. Southeast Polk Little League does have inter-league play to support smaller leagues in the area and to provide players the opportunity to experience games and both home and away venues. After the regular season has concluded, all teams will participate in the inter-league Travis Hough Memorial Tournament to crown a division champion.

All-Stars:

The AA (Minor) division is the first division in Southeast Polk Little League where players become eligible for all-stars. At the end of the season the coaches will nominate kids from their team that they feel are ready for All-star play.  If picked for All-stars the player will be expected to be available for practices and games from late June through mid to late July (depending on how far they get in the tournament).
